You can book a PTE test on Pearson’s official website. First, choose the test, centre and date. Then use myPTE to enter your details and pay. Your appointment is booked only when it appears in your myPTE account and you receive confirmation.
Start the official PTE booking process
PTE Karo does not take bookings or payments. The steps below help you complete the official process; button names may change, so follow the current Pearson interface. For cancellation, ID and test-day detail, use our separate booking-rules guide.
What to check before PTE exam booking
Do not start with the date. Start with the reason you need the result. A university, visa office, immigration department or professional body may accept only a particular PTE test.
Before you book, have these details ready:
- The exact name of the PTE test you need
- The minimum overall and skill scores required
- Your application deadline
- An identity document accepted for that test and country
- Your correct name, date of birth, citizenship and gender
- A personal email address that you can open
- A valid payment method or PTE voucher
- Two or three suitable test dates in case your first choice is full
If the organization only says that it accepts “PTE,” ask it to confirm the full test name. A similar name does not mean that every result can be used for the same purpose.
Indian candidates: settle ID before choosing a slot
For standard Academic and Core in India, plan around a current valid passport with details matching your account. Do not rely on an old temporary Aadhaar concession or an expired-passport exception from an undated blog. Pearson’s current country/product rules control admission. Academic UKVI and Home use the separate SELT identification policy, so check that product’s accepted documents rather than extending a standard-Academic rule to every test.
See the India guide for the verified product/ID distinctions. If your name or document is unusual, ask Pearson before paying; PTE Karo cannot approve an exception.
Step 1: Choose the correct PTE test
Pearson may ask where you want to go and what you want to do there. Your answers help the website suggest a test. Treat the suggestion as help, not as approval for your application. The organization using your score makes the final decision.
| Test | Common purpose | Check before booking |
|---|---|---|
| PTE Academic | University study and some work or migration routes | Confirm that the university, visa route or regulator accepts it. |
| PTE Core | Canadian permanent residence and other IRCC economic routes | Confirm your Canadian program and required Canadian Language Benchmark level. |
| PTE Academic UKVI | UK routes that require a four-skill Secure English Language Test | Check the exact GOV.UK visa requirement. |
| PTE Home A1, A2 or B1 | UK routes whose English requirement can be met by Home A1, A2 or B1 | Confirm the exact current and application-date rule; Home does not offer B2. |
Use the PTE test comparison if you are not sure what these names mean. Do not pay until the receiving organization confirms the correct test.
For a UK family or settlement route, do not assume Home B1 remains suitable for every future application. The route and application date determine the required level. Confirm before selecting a Home level.
Step 2: Find a PTE test centre, date and time
Open Pearson’s test centres and fees page. Select the country where you will take the test, then select the correct PTE product. The appointment finder lets you search by city or location.
The results can show several centres. For each option, check:
- The full centre name and address
- The exact PTE test shown at the top of the page
- The first available date
- Other dates in the calendar
- The appointment time and time format
- The distance and travel time from your home
A centre may offer PTE Academic without offering every other PTE test. Always check the test code and name before choosing Book.
Pearson’s booking instructions say to choose a date and time at least 24 hours ahead. That is not a promise that a suitable seat will exist at short notice. Account corrections, consent or approved accommodations can need more lead time.
Available PTE slots can change while you compare them. Another student may book a seat, or a centre may add new appointments. Use the live Pearson calendar as the final source rather than an old screenshot or date list.
Step 3: Create or sign in to your myPTE account
You need a myPTE account to finish the booking and later manage your appointment and result. Use your own email address. Pearson says a test taker should not create more than one account.
Enter your details carefully. Your account information must match the accepted identity document that you will take to the test centre. Include middle names in the correct field when they appear on the document. Use Roman characters where Pearson asks you to do so.
If you have only one name, a very long name or a name that has changed, read Pearson’s account instructions or contact Pearson before test day. Do not shorten or change a name simply to make it fit.
If you are under 18
For eligible 16–17-year-old Academic/Core candidates, Pearson requires parent or guardian consent. PTE Home has a separate age rule: candidates must be over 18. Consent is not a way to book a Home test below its permitted age. Follow the consent instructions shown during account creation. Complete this early so it does not delay your preferred appointment.
If you need an accommodation
Tell Pearson about the requirement while creating your profile. Some requests need medical evidence and Pearson asks candidates to submit the form at least six weeks before the chosen test. Pearson’s support team may contact you to arrange the booking. Read the accommodations policy before paying.
Step 4: Answer the booking questions and review the policies
The booking flow asks for information and agreement to Pearson’s rules. Read the admission, identification, rescheduling and cancellation terms. These rules affect whether you can enter the test room and what happens if your plans change.
Check the appointment summary before payment:
- Correct PTE test and test code
- Correct country and centre
- Correct date, time and time zone
- Personal details matching your ID
- Current price and currency
- Any tax, booking or late-booking amount shown
For India, Pearson’s country finder listed ₹18,900 for Academic, Core and Academic UKVI, and ₹15,300 for each Home level, on 28 October 2026. These dated figures are not a locked quote or a tax breakdown. The displayed checkout total is the price that matters. Fees can change, and the amount depends on the country where you take the test. Avoid relying on an undated fee shown on another website.
Step 5: Pay for the PTE exam safely
Pearson currently lists Visa and Mastercard credit or debit cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay with a linked card. PayU is also available in India. Pearson says it does not accept PayPal. The options shown at your checkout are the final options for that booking.
A card may be in another person’s name if you have permission to use it and the billing details match the cardholder. Pearson recommends using your own card when possible. A disputed or fraudulent payment can affect the appointment, account or result.
If you have a valid PTE voucher, enter it in the voucher or promotion field before completing payment. A voucher can be used for a test fee but not for a rescheduling fee. Check its expiry date before using it.
Only book through Pearson or an agent listed as an authorized PTE partner. Pearson warns against offers with an unusually low price, a guaranteed score or a score report without taking a test. Never give anyone your myPTE password or one-time login codes. Authorized booking assistance is not the same as handing over your personal account credentials.
Step 6: Check your PTE booking confirmation
After payment, open your myPTE dashboard and look for the appointment. Check the test, centre, date and time again. Save the booking and payment emails where you can find them on test day.
Pearson says that if the confirmation email does not arrive within two working days, you should check your spam or junk folder. You can still check the booking on the myPTE dashboard. Payment receipts are available under My activity and View Receipts.
Do not make travel plans from the payment-screen message alone. First confirm that the appointment appears in your account.
What to do when a PTE booking payment fails
Start by checking the myPTE dashboard. Do not pay again immediately if the first transaction is still being processed.
Follow these steps:
- Check whether an appointment appears in myPTE.
- Check your email, including the spam folder, for booking or payment messages.
- Check whether the amount was charged or only placed on hold by the bank.
- Check that the card details, billing details and booking currency are correct.
- Contact your bank if it blocked an international or online payment.
- Contact Pearson support if money was taken but no appointment appears.
Keep the transaction reference and screenshots of the error, but hide full card numbers and private identity details.
Final confirmation checklist
Before closing the browser, compare the confirmation with the information you intended to book:
| Field | What to confirm |
|---|---|
| Product | Full test name, including UKVI or Home level where relevant |
| Candidate | Legal details agree with the accepted original ID |
| Place | Exact centre/address, not only city name |
| Time | Day, month, year and AM/PM; use the appointment’s local time |
| Payment | Correct amount/currency and a receipt, without sharing full card details |
| Account | Appointment appears in your own myPTE account |
A screenshot of a suggested slot, a voucher purchase or an agent’s message alone is not your appointment confirmation. If something disagrees, contact Pearson support rather than creating a second account. Plan the test-day arrival only from the confirmed appointment.
Common PTE slot-booking mistakes
- Booking PTE Academic when the application needs PTE Core or a UKVI test
- Entering a nickname instead of the legal name on the accepted ID
- Creating a second myPTE account after forgetting the first password
- Choosing a centre only because it is nearest, without checking the exact test
- Reading 1:00 as an afternoon time when the page shows 1:00 AM
- Paying before checking the application deadline and result buffer
- Trusting an old fee or PTE exam date from an unofficial page
- Leaving an accommodation request until after booking
- Treating a bank charge as proof that the appointment is confirmed
Can you change or cancel a PTE booking?
You can manage an appointment from the booking information on your myPTE dashboard. Pearson currently says you can reschedule when more than 14 full calendar days remain. The reschedule button is not shown when 14 days or less remain or after six changes to the same appointment.
Refunds depend on when you cancel. Read the current Pearson cancellation and rescheduling policy before making a change. Do not rely on an old refund table because policy wording can change.
Frequently asked questions
How do I book the PTE exam online?
Open Pearson’s official PTE website and choose the correct test, centre and date. Sign in to myPTE, enter matching personal details, pay and check the confirmation.
Can I book a PTE test without a passport?
The accepted ID depends on the test and country. A passport is preferred in most countries, but Pearson allows other documents in some situations. Check the official ID policy before booking.
How can I check whether my PTE booking is confirmed?
Sign in to myPTE and check the appointment on your dashboard. Pearson also sends a confirmation email. Check your spam folder if it does not arrive.
Can someone else pay for my PTE exam?
Yes. Pearson allows a card in another person’s name if you have permission and the billing details match the cardholder. Pearson recommends using your own payment method when possible.
Can I change my PTE exam date after booking?
Pearson normally allows rescheduling when more than 14 full calendar days remain. Check the current policy because limits and fees can apply.
Conclusion
A safe PTE exam booking begins with the correct test, not the cheapest or earliest date. Use Pearson’s live appointment finder, enter details that match your accepted ID, read the rules and pay through the official system. Your final check is simple: the correct appointment must appear in your myPTE account.
