PTE exam dates by city and centre in India
Use the official Pearson calendar to check dates and start times. Each link below opens the PTE Academic appointment search; enter the city and choose the centre there. It does not preselect a city or reserve a seat.
Read this before choosing a date:The centre names and areas below are reference information from 14 September 2026, not a newly verified address list. Confirm the current centre, address and available seat with Pearson. For Core, Academic UKVI or Home, go to the calendar links for your test.
PTE exam dates in India are appointment-based: the date, centre, product and start time must be available together. There is no single national list of guaranteed seats. Use the official calendar instead of a copied monthly date table.
The city directory above keeps reference centre names and areas from 14 September 2026 for orientation. Its links open Pearson’s live Academic search; you still need to enter your location and select a centre. This article’s 28 October review date does not mean those reference addresses were reverified. The address in your final Pearson confirmation is the one to use for travel.
These are links to Pearson, not an embedded calendar or a PTE Karo booking service. A centre offering Academic does not necessarily offer Core, UKVI or every Home level. If the product is uncertain, use the test-selection guide before choosing a date.
How to check PTE exam date availability
You can see appointments before completing payment.
Select India as the country where you will take the test.
Select PTE Academic, PTE Core, PTE Academic UKVI or the correct PTE Home level.
Choose Find test centres or the booking link for that test.
Enter your city, postcode or area in the official appointment finder.
Check the test name shown above the search results.
Compare centres, dates and times.
Open the calendar beside a centre to see more available days.
Select a time and continue to myPTE only when the test, centre and date are correct.
Where the finder displays a first available date, treat it as the result of that search—not as a promise that it will remain available. Open the calendar to inspect other dates and times. Pearson’s interface can change; follow its current labels.
Why PTE dates change by city and centre
PTE appointments work like available seats, not like one paper exam held nationwide on a fixed Sunday. A date depends on several moving parts:
The PTE product offered by the centre
The number of workstations and sessions
Seats already booked by other test takers
New sessions added by a centre
Cancellations and rescheduled appointments
Centre closures, public holidays or operational changes
This is why two centres in the same city can show different first dates and times. It is also why a date visible today may not be visible tomorrow.
How to choose the best PTE exam date
The earliest seat is not always the best seat. Choose a date that gives you enough preparation time and protects your application deadline.
Start with the final deadline
Find the last date when the university, visa office or other organization must receive your score. Check whether you need to send the score through myPTE or enter a score-report code in an application.
Leave time for your result
Pearson says results are usually available in two days but can take up to five working days, or longer when extra review is needed. The receiving organisation can also need processing time after you share the result. Read the results guide before working backwards from a deadline. Do not book so close to the deadline that a delay creates a problem.
Leave a possible retake window
Pearson says you can book another test after receiving the score from your previous test, subject to its retake policy. A new attempt also needs an available appointment; do not assume that the next day or the same centre will have a seat. A retake is not always needed, but a time buffer gives you another option if the score is below the requirement.
Count your real preparation days
Do not count work, travel or family days as full study days when they are not. Choose a date after you have learned the test format and completed enough timed practice to understand your weak areas.
Check the complete journey
A 7:45 AM appointment far from home may require travel before public transport starts. Check the route, likely traffic, arrival instructions and a backup plan. A slightly later date with a more reliable journey can be the better choice. Pearson asks candidates to arrive 30 minutes before the appointment. Use the India centre guide for travel and location checks.
If no suitable dates appear
Confirm the exact product and location first. Then widen the date range, compare another centre within practical travelling distance, or check again later. A blank calendar does not prove that a centre is permanently closed, and a future seat release is not guaranteed.
Do not switch from Core to Academic, or from UKVI to standard Academic, merely because a different test has an earlier appointment. If Pearson shows an error rather than a clear availability result, use its booking support. Avoid paying an unofficial seller for a supposed hidden or guaranteed slot.
PTE date, slot and confirmation: what is the difference?
These terms are often used as if they mean the same thing, but they describe different things.
Term
Simple meaning
PTE exam date
The calendar day when you may take the test.
PTE slot
A particular centre, date and start time with a seat available.
Selected appointment
The slot you chose during the booking process.
Confirmed booking
The appointment shown in myPTE after successful payment.
Seeing a date in a blog does not reserve it. Even selecting a time does not mean the booking is complete. Check for the appointment in myPTE and keep Pearson’s confirmation email.
When should you book your PTE date?
There is no single number of days that suits every student. Use this simple order:
Confirm the correct PTE test and target score.
Check the final application deadline.
Estimate honest preparation time.
Add time for the result and score sharing.
Add a retake buffer if the deadline allows it.
Search nearby centres and choose a safe travel plan.
Search with more lead time when only a weekend fits your schedule, you have one practical nearby centre or the deadline is strict. Do not assume that a particular month or weekday is easier to score on.
If you need an accommodation, Pearson asks for a request at least six weeks ahead and some arrangements can take longer. Follow the accommodation process before choosing an ordinary slot; do not assume it can be added at the door.
Can you reschedule a PTE exam date?
Pearson currently says you may reschedule when more than 14 full calendar days remain before the appointment. The reschedule option is not shown when 14 days or less remain or when the same booking has already been changed six times.
Cancellation refunds depend on the number of days left. Read Pearson’s current cancellation and rescheduling policy before changing anything. A date that was available during your first booking may be gone when you try to move the appointment.
Common mistakes when checking PTE test dates
Reading a competitor’s old table as live seat availability
Checking PTE Academic dates when the application needs PTE Core or UKVI
Assuming every centre in a city offers the same test and dates
Choosing the earliest time without checking travel and arrival instructions
Forgetting to leave time for the result and score sharing
Booking close to a deadline with no room for a delay or retake
Paying before checking that account details match the accepted ID
Assuming a payment message means the booking is confirmed
Frequently asked questions
Is the PTE exam held every day in India?
PTE has regular dates, but every centre does not offer every test on every day. Available days and times depend on the city, centre, test type and remaining seats.
How can I check the next PTE exam date in my city?
Open Pearson’s test centres and fees page, select India and the correct PTE test, then search for your city in the official appointment finder.
How early should I book a PTE exam date?
Book after you know your required test and score. Leave time to prepare, receive the result, share it and retake the test if needed before your application deadline.
Can a PTE exam date become unavailable?
Yes. A date or time can disappear when seats are booked. New slots can also appear when a centre adds appointments or another test taker changes a booking.
Can I change my PTE test date?
Pearson normally allows rescheduling when more than 14 full calendar days remain. Check the current policy before changing the booking.
Conclusion
PTE exam dates in India depend on live appointments. Use the city reference and official product links as a starting point, then confirm the exact test, centre, date and time with Pearson. Choose a date that gives you enough preparation time and a safe buffer before your application deadline.
